Growing up

The things I used to wonder about
Are things of yesterday,
Today I am on another quest,
Seeking answers to other questions,
Maybe that is what is growing up.

Time will tell what is in store for me,
I know not now,
I have learnt to make lemonade
From the lemons life throws at me,
Maybe that is what is growing up.

Going on and on,
Refusing to give up,
Moving on ahead of grief and pain,
Learning to see the bigger picture,
Maybe that is what is growing up.

Learning to stop
Saying 'Life is not fair',
Caring to see deep enough
To find the fairness beneath,
Maybe that is what is growing up.

Realising that life
Is sometimes
Less than perfect,
Learning to live with the imperfections,
Maybe that is what is growing up.
